For all those who do not agree with my Ideals! I would no more drop you off my friends list than I would drop my ideals. I am sure you have a perception of my ideals as you might of the millions of Americans who fight at my side, but ironically, few have even been able to depict them properly. The News networks, politicians, and even talk show pundants try to express their association with us as if they hold the reigns on this movement, but unfortunately even they don't completely get it.
There were almost 2 million people in Washington DC this past weekend (by the most accurate count of the US Forestry Service) and yet they were threatened with a lawsuit if they released that count officially. In addition to this DC crowd, there were over 600 other demonstrations across the country in every major city which included millions more. By poll, more than 60% of the American people associate themselves with our ideals.
But enough about the numbers. What are our ideals? We simply believe that the government that has no checks and balances will always oppress its people and eventually squelch redress. This is the purpose of the Constitution of the United States. I believe it to be the Greatest Document, besides the Bible, that has ever been written by Man in that it has created the Greatest Nation this earth has ever known. This nation's Central government draws its design, edicts and all its power from this same 11 page document, it's only Charter. It is a living Document in that as Culture changes, the Document is designed to be amended but ONLY in the manner described within its own pages. We stand on this Document!
Yes, we do express our support of the rights afforded in the Bill of Rights, but the true limits are in the document itself which has never been outdated. We don't appose a particular candidate for President, Congress, etc. simply on social policy or political party. We, as a movement, appose the Pragmatic belief that the US Govt is designated to supersede all other powers of Sovereign States, local governments and especially individual choices and responsibilities. If you had read various polls, you would have seen that over the last two years of George Bush's administration, his popularity was less than 13%. The vast majority of the American people believe that NO GOVT, no matter where its party allegience may lie, has any right to take away ANY of their God-given rights and freedoms.
In 2006, we installed a new Democrat Party leadership in Congress which has been retained and increased steadily since that time. The new Obama administration has given them unchecked power to accomplish what they choose, and as a result, they have turned their back on the people of America to pursue their own devices. The Czars that have been appointed were chosen from proponents of the Saul Alinski and Fidel Castro Government Models (documented). The American Taxpayer's money by the $billions has been handed over to corrupt groups like ACORN, Wall street, AFLCIO, SEIU, etc. in the midst of the worst recession of our generation at a time when our economy needed that money the most. Factions of the American Auto industry has been taken over by the Obama Administration (without constitutional authority) which empowered a non-elected Special-interest Czar to close down 800+ productive Chrysler and GM dealerships simply because they didn't support a particular political party (documented). All of this in the face of the American people as if they had no power to stop it. Thus more jobs were lost, more freedoms stolen, and more Americans outraged. This is what I and millions of other Americans stand against!
In conclusion, my ideals are just; my ideals are documented by the very men who created this nation; and my ideals are apolitical. The ONLY reason why they are ignored or demonized by a particular political faction of the government and/or media is simply because My Ideals clearly threaten their aspirations of power and political advancement. The fewer citizens who are informed about the true purpose of any oppressive agenda, the faster that agenda can take hold and the easier it is for that agenda to remove the structure of limits which resist its growth and effectiveness.
My Ideals are simply this: God-given Rights and Freedoms of all Men!I did not write this to attack or debate you or your position. I simply want to make it clear that I believe you and millions of other Americans have taken sides on a battle that you've perceived to be bilateral, when in fact, you probably agree with us in more points than you even know. I want you as a friend! I need you as a neighbor! and I vow to fight for your freedom to express and defend your position regardless of whether or not I share that position. Can you say the same about the very government officials we have elected for that very purpose, who have taken the vow of loyalty to THAT very cause?

Wow....well done Tim! Powerful words right there!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up Tim... Good words my Brother.
ReplyDeleteWell spoken! Thanks for presenting the values of freedom so clearly.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
ReplyDeleteWhere to start:
At least you make an effort to be non-partisan by claiming that GWB did a pretty terrible job, then you dive back into the liberal boogyman talking points.
I'll be honest with you, I doubt, sincerely, that we would agree on much of anything. The Constitution has had to be amended multiple times, and people with the same mindset as your teaparty bretheren were there to fight it every step of the way. Except, possibly, for the repeal of prohibition.
You may be anti GWB now, but where were you in 2002 when he wanted to waste hundreds of billions of dollars on Iraq? I seem to recall that there were people protesting, but at that time, we were called "unpatriotic" and "anti-american lunatics".
The teaparty folks would be taken much more seriously if they actually WERE informed. Don't believe me? Next time you get a chance to meet up, ask, informally, how many of them believe Obama is a muslim. Or was born in Kenya.
Hell, ask them if they understand how a bill becomes a law. Or how parts of a law can be found unconstitutional. Or how an amendment works. Bonus: Ask them to name the 3 branches of government. Pay extra special attention to how few of them know that the President doesn't create bills or amendments and can only sign or veto a law.
I'm sure that you are the one in 100 that actually has the right idea for for what these gatherings could be, but to misquote Glen Beck, "you are surrounded by them". And they are idiots.
First of all, thank you very much for your meaningful dialog. It is a pleasure to be able to discuss important issue without name-calling and personal attacks.
ReplyDeleteYour first assumption was that every Constitutional Amendment was just and contributed to the betterment of the People of the United States.
You are correct in your assumption that conservative movements have objected to the passing of a few of the Constitutional Amendments like the sixteenth, eighteenth (later repealed), and twenty seventh (doesn’t go far enough) but, after ratified, they have become part of the Constitution and thereby the Standard and Charter for ALL that our Government is empowered to accomplish.
Your comment, though non-confrontational, consisted of nothing but assumptions you’ve harbored based on information gleaned from sources and advocates of your chosen political party. I know these Tea Party people personally, and I know even the children to be better informed about the Constitution, actions and functions of the Government and especially their own representatives than ANY of the Democrat or Republican Party fanatics that I know.
The American people in general have been disenfranchised by partisanship in general for the past few years especially. We listen to daily rhetoric where politicians and pundits fight continuously to divide the people of this Nation along lines of Class, Income, Religion, Race, Environmental Impact, etc. pitching accusations of political, racial, financial, and prejudicial oppression. Ironically, for any who will diligently research the reality of our society, the most oppressive faction of our generation is always found to be the Government itself. Tea Party protesters are simply educated enough to see this.
Republican politicians have tried to ride in on the coattails of our movement, but without success.
Unlike so many other movements, our Cause bares no allegiance to a color of skin, political party, or even religious belief. For this reason, we oppose or support military action or diplomatic proposals on their merits only, unlike many other protesters whose actions are strangely absent today because they were based on the political party in power.
It is the voice of the Liberal Boogeyman who casts unfounded accusations of racism, ignorance and stereotype at anyone who apposes them. It is the Liberal Boogeyman who actually believes that Republicans are “right-wing” and that Fascism is a better form of Government than Freedom. It is the Liberal Boogeyman who lumps the “Obama is a Muslim” or “Birthers” together with any movement of citizens seeking to retain or regain their own individual rights and freedoms. They only make such associations for the purpose of destroying the credibility of a just cause. By these terms, the Liberal Boogeyman has a partisan agenda.
So let’s look past all the accusations and political segregation and ask key questions. Of the 300+ times when attempted in the twentieth century alone, at what time, from either side of the isle, has government subsidy of special interest fringe groups created economic stimulus? At what time has increased wasteful spending brought about economic recovery for a government, state, family or an individual? At what time has increased borrowing brought about anything but more debt?
Do we agree on these points, or do you completely trust the Powers-to-be simply because they belong to your chosen party allegiance. Do you actually believe they have the ability to defy ALL laws of nature, laws of economics and laws of Constitutional freedom and still breed success? I don’t and all those who stand with me agree. IT MUST STOP!
The whole summation of your posts is "the tea party movement people are stupid." You have zero evidence that a "majority" of the people at these events are stupid. You have media clips (including a clip of a man with an assault rifle who was black at an Obama event, but his color was excluded from the mainstream media's analysis of the event, and they proceeded to say that it was racists who were threatening the president by bringing guns, though the person bringing the gun was black).
ReplyDeleteWith the exact same evidential basis, I can call everyone who believes what you believe a moron.
Isn't that great? I don't even have to talk real issues or debate with you about political philosophy, or cite sources, or anything like that. I can just try to discredit you with insults and polemic. We'll make tons of progress on that road.
So many haven't compared the US constitution to any other constitution in existence (the french constitution was more of a periodical). It is irrational to interpret a document or words in general outside of their given context - that destroys the very value of words in a society. It's also a basic principle of analysis of any historical document.
Of Iraq and those protesters who were marginalized - at least the source of the marginalization was not the entire mainstream media. It was easy to marginalize those people, too, because there were plenty of 911 truthers among them. What you did is pretty easy to do - choose the fringe of the group, make that the face of the group, and insult. You could have had 100 people on the side of a street corner protesting the war, and the media would cover it.
We won't get anywhere if you aren't willing to even talk issues. Enjoy the self-consolation of insulting another american rather than discussing issues with him.
